After releasing Fall Creators Update Preview builds to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring last night, Microsoft is now rolling out another build. Today’s release is only for those who joined the Skip Ahead program of the Insider community introduced by the Windows maker earlier this summer. Those in Skip Ahead are currently getting an early peek into the Windows 10 Redstone 4 (the version that will be released in Spring, 2018) ahead of even the Fast ring Insiders.

“Because we are just beginning development for RS4, Insiders shouldn’t expect to see a lot of big changes or new features just yet,” Dona Sarkar wrote in today’s announcement post. “Our focus remains getting the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update ready for release!”

Windows 10 Redstone 4 Preview 16362

But that doesn’t mean that today’s Windows 10 Redstone 4 Preview doesn’t bring anything new. Along with Edge, Input and Gaming improvements that were rolled out to Fast ring yesterday, today’s build also bring improved boot experience to the Skip Ahead. The build also brings a new privacy control as was reported earlier today. Here is what is new and improved with Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 16362 for PC (Skip Ahead).

Improved Boot Experience

Use sign-in info to apply settings after a restart or update: Building on our work seen in Build 16251, if you stay on the lock screen for a few seconds before signing in, you will now see your lock screen personalization (such as Windows Spotlight, and/or status information from Cortana, Calendar, Mail, and more). As always, you can customize your lock screen experience using the settings listed under Settings > Personalization > Lock screen.
