Defying a previous rumor that detailed the mass production of the iPhone 8 during a later period, sources close to the matter have reported that the production of the edge-to-edge smartphone has already begun, although there are chances that the device will have limited units up for sale during the initial launch.

Lots of Apple’s Suppliers Expect iPhone 8 Production to Scale Higher, Leading to Higher Revenues and Profits

All three iPhone models are expected to be unveiled in September; the iPhone 7s, the iPhone 7s Plus and the iPhone 8 according to a report from DigiTimes. It claims that the production of the iPhone 8 has already commenced meaning that it is possible that limited supplies of the A11 chipset-powered smartphone will not be witnessed when Apple officially starts to sell a massive number of units.

However, keep in mind that just because the production phase of the iPhone 8 has started, it does not mean that issues are not going to be encountered during this phase. Ming-Chi Kuo has stated that around 2-4 million units of the iPhone 8 will initially be present for sale, but that figure could reach 45 to 50 million units by the end of the year. Perhaps the biggest component that would present complications is the OLED panel.

Apple does require pristine quality of the component required from Samsung but it is also possible that a minuscule percentage of the display ends up in the garbage because of failing to maintain the standard of quality that Apple requires.

The iPhone 8 has been reported to tout a 5.8-inch OLED panel but to increase the overall battery capacity of the handset, Apple might have employed the use of substrate-like PCB that has been rumored to be present on the upcoming Galaxy S9.
